È lì, nel piccolo grande “club” che da decenni custodisce la memoria di un popolo, che si respira l’attesa di un anniversario storico: i 100 anni dell’Hoboken Italian Festival. Un secolo di storia, di fede, di radici che non hanno mai smesso di vibrare. Un traguardo che richiede un impegno straordinario da parte di tutti. Essere Presidente o Vice Presidente non è solo un titolo: è una responsabilità che si intreccia con la vita di ogni membro, un patto condiviso affinchè a settembre tutto sia perfetto, pronto, degno di un centenario che appartiene a generazioni intere. Le settimane scorrono veloci, il lavoro è ancora tanto, la suddivisione dei compiti diventa sempre più precisa. Quattro giorni di festa, dal 10 al 13 settembre, che puntano ad accogliere 250.000 partecipanti. Un numero che racconta la forza di una tradizione che non conosce confini. Un folto gruppo arriverà da Molfetta: quando la comunità si riunisce, le distanze si accorciano, il cuore batte all’unisono. E questa presenza diventa un’ulteriore responsabilità: rendere la festa ancora più bella, più intensa, più vera, per mostrare il lavoro tramandato di padre in figlio, di madre in figlia, fino a questo incredibile traguardo dei 100 anni. Le novità sono tante. Per la prima volta ci sarà uno show con i droni, un cielo che si illuminerà di immagini e parole, un racconto moderno che si intreccia con la tradizione. Anche la location è nuova: tutto si svolgerà sul PIER A, un luogo magico dove lo skyline di Manhattan sembra abbracciare la festa. Da lì si vede tutto: Central Park, l’Empire State Building, The Edge, il Summit, Ground Zero, la maestosa Freedom Tower. È come se New York intera si affacciasse a celebrare la Madonna dei Martiri. Prima dei quattro giorni di festa, la comunità vivrà la novena nella chiesa di San Francis. Momenti di preghiera, di raccoglimento, di memoria. La Madonna dei Martiri veglia su tutti: sotto il suo manto rosso ci sentiamo protetti, uniti, parte di una storia che non si è mai spezzata. Quando la sua statua attraversa le strade di Hoboken, sembra di respirare l’aria di Molfetta. La fede diventa casa, la devozione diventa famiglia. Within those familiar walls, where memories and traditions have lived for decades, the anticipation rises for a historic milestone: the 100th Anniversary of the Hoboken Italian Festival. A century of history, devotion, and roots that never stopped beating. A milestone that demands extraordinary commitment from everyone involved. Being President or Vice President is not just a role—it is a responsibility woven into the life of every member, a shared mission to ensure that everything is ready, perfect, and worthy of a centennial celebration that belongs to generations. Weeks are passing quickly, and there is still much to do. Tasks are becoming more detailed and precise. Four days of celebration, from September 10 to 13, aiming to welcome 250,000 attendees. A number that reflects the strength of a tradition that transcends borders. A large group will arrive from Molfetta, and when the community gathers, distances shrink, hearts beat together. Their presence becomes an additional responsibility: making the festival even more beautiful, more meaningful, more powerful—showcasing the work passed down from generation to generation, all the way to this extraordinary 100-year milestone. There are many new features. For the first time, a drone show will illuminate the sky with images and words, blending modern storytelling with ancient devotion. The location is new as well: everything will take place on PIER A, a breathtaking spot where the Manhattan skyline embraces the festival. From there, you can see it all—Central Park, the Empire State Building, The Edge, the Summit, Ground Zero, and the majestic Freedom Tower. It feels as if all of New York is watching over the Madonna dei Martiri celebration. Before the four days of festivities, the community will gather for the novena at St. Francis Church. Moments of prayer, reflection, and remembrance. The Madonna dei Martiri watches over everyone: under her red mantle, we feel protected, united, part of a story that has never been broken.
