Nel Nord America, ad Hoboken, la grande comunità di emigrati pugliesi — originari di Molfetta — continua a raccogliere i frutti di un’eredità costruita con sacrificio, fede e amore. Oggi, sono le seconde e terze generazioni a svolgere un ruolo fondamentale nel mantenere viva la cultura italiana, reinterpretandola in forme nuove, ibride, contemporanee.
In North America, in Hoboken, the large community of Pugliese immigrants — originally from Molfetta — continues to reap the fruits of an inheritance built with sacrifice, faith, and love. Today, it is the second and third generations who play a fundamental role in keeping Italian culture alive, reinterpreting it in new, hybrid, contemporary forms.
Questo fenomeno conferma un legame identitario che non si spezza, ma cresce, proprio nell’anno del 100° Anniversario dell’Hoboken Italian Festival e della Madonna dei Martiri in America.

C’è una foto che racconta tutto: sette giovanissimi, uniti da un abbraccio fraterno, simbolo di un futuro che onora il passato. Sono cresciuti con i profumi, i colori e i racconti di una Molfetta che amano profondamente, anche se vivono dall’altra parte dell’oceano.

Le seconde e terze generazioni sono la linfa vitale dell’Associazione Madonna dei Martiri di Hoboken. Nel club si promuove la cultura italiana, cresce l’orgoglio delle proprie radici e aumenta l’interesse per la genealogia e la ricerca degli antenati.
The second and third generations are the lifeblood of the Madonna dei Martiri Association in Hoboken. The club promotes Italian culture, strengthens pride in one’s roots, and fuels interest in genealogy and ancestral research.
Molti giovani decidono di visitare i paesi d’origine delle loro famiglie, dando vita a un vero turismo di ritorno verso la Puglia.
